This week, Linux Out Loud chats about how variety is the spice of Linux.
Welcome to episode 37 of Linux Out Loud. We fired up our mics, connected those headphones as we searched the community for themes to expound upon. We kept the banter friendly, the conversation somewhat on topic, and had fun doing it.

My first show of Linux Saloon on Wayland was a success. I did have some issues with Zoom during the show but that is typical. Wayland on Plasma is pretty solid. I do want to say that @stevesveryown was SUPER helpful in helping me up my OBS game too.
Wayland is pretty good on Arch/KDE , except the slow shut downs.
From what i’ve seen when it comes to screen, keyboard and mouse capture the answer can vary a lot between Wayland implementations.
You’d probably want to say which implementation you’re having issues with if it’s one of those three. For example
wlroots
would usegrim
withslurp
for screenshots but that wouldn’t work for Gnome or KDE’s implementations.flameshot
works for me inwlroots
to a degree but has issues so I use that command with a hotkey and send it tokrita
if I need to edit.Continue the discussion at forum.tuxdigital.com
